Ophir-Spiricon announces the PE25BF-DIF and PE100BF-DIF the newest members of the company’s line of pyroelectric detectors for repetitive pulses. These energy sensors provide the highest damage threshold, highest pulse energies, and widest spectral range in the industry. The PE25BFDIF has a fast broadband absorber that accurately measures from 193nm to 2.2μm at pulse rates to 150Hz; pulse energies are measured up to 10J. The PE100BF-DIF measures from 193nm to 2.0μm at pulse rates to 40Hz; pulse energies are measured to 40J.While most high damage threshold detectors require multiple diffusers to cover the spectral range, the PE25BF-DIF and PE100BF-DIF use a single, removable diffuser to cover UV, Visible, and Mid-IR wavelengths. This results in an accurate and flexible system that handles a wide range of measurement requirements. The sensors work with most types of pulsed lasers, from short to long pulse, and from low to high energy.

Ophir-Spiricon announces the 3A-P-FS Very Low Power/Energy Sensor. The 3A-P-FS is designed to measure very low power and energy light sources and divergent beams, such as LEDs and diode lasers. The 3A-P-FS features a wide, 12mm numerical aperture and a fused silica window in front of the detector. The window, only 7mm from the sensor surface, keeps out air currents and long wavelength background heat, allowing more accurate measurements of lower powers. The sensor can measure divergent beams up to ± 40 degrees.

Ophir announces the industry’s first built-in photodiode trigger for beam profiling cameras at LASERWorld of Photonics. The trigger is part of the company’s USB 2.0 Silicon CCD Cameras designed specifically for laser beam measurement applications, the SP503U and SP620U. These cameras accurately capture and analyze wavelengths from 190nm – 1550nm, both continuous wave (CW) and pulsed mode.
The SP camera’s built-in photodiode trigger includes new firmware that analyzes background lighting and provides offsets, allowing reliable triggering on a variety of energy levels, including energies as low as 10µJ. The internal photodiode trigger also includes a pre-trigger function that predicts when the next pulse will arrive and opens the shutter in time to see short, ns pulses.

Ophir announces the new PE50BF-DIF and PE50BF pyroelectric sensors with the new BF absorber with the highest damage threshold in the industry. The DIF sensor with the diffuser has a damage threshold of >4J/cm² and the non diffuser sensor has a damage threshold of 800mJ/cm² for ns pulses at most wavelengths.
These sensors are able to measure most pulsed lasers of wavelengths from 193nm to 3um, repetition rates up to 120Hz and pulse widths up to 5ms. One sensor can measure a YAG laser and all its harmonics, Excimer lasers, Holmium lasers, Diode lasers, Erbium lasers and many more - all in the same device.
